Every year, the town prepares for the festivities well in advance.
The celebrations are organised by a committee made up of residents of Vallerano, renewed each year and responsible for guiding the community through the preparations.
The most intense moment is the solemn procession.
Before setting out, inside the church dedicated to the Saint, the Facchini gather for prayer and receive a blessing.
The statue of Saint Victor is then raised onto their shoulders and carried through the streets of the historic centre.
It is at this moment that the bond between the Saint and Vallerano becomes visible.
The physical effort of the Facchini, the expressions on people’s faces, the atmosphere of devotion and the participation of the residents transform the streets of the village into a shared space where faith and a sense of belonging come together.
Along the route, one of the most spectacular moments is the traditional ground-level fireworks display: a powerful pyrotechnic sequence performed close to the ground, deeply connected to the feast of Saint Victor and, over time, one of its most distinctive traditions.
Saint Victor thus makes his way through the town on the shoulders of his Facchini, accompanied by his people in a collective expression of devotion, tradition and emotion.
It is a ritual that continues to be renewed, telling the story of Vallerano through the bond between its people, their history and a Saint who, for generations, has represented a profound part of their identity.
